Zander is running to deliver results for the people of District 5 and across Athens-Clarke County.

Zander Mason’s Campaign
remains focused on 5 core priorities:

Public Safety and Strong Communities

Safety means freedom from crime and gangs; we must support continued investment in police and fire services, strengthen youth programs that prevent gang recruitment and create positive pathways, and ensure residents feel safe in their neighborhoods, downtown, and across Athens.

Youth & Education Support

The county government has a role to play. We should invest in after-school programs, mentorship, and recreation opportunities, build partnerships with UGA to ensure the university's growth benefits the entire community, and support youth development programs that keep kids on the right path.

Homelessness and Housing Solutions

To address homelessness with compassion and effective strategies, not just short-term fixes, we should cut red tape so builders can create housing where it is most needed, especially in District 5, encourage smart development that balances neighborhood needs with growth, and partner with nonprofits and faith communities for lasting impact.

Economic Development & Jobs

We must reduce burdensome red tape that frustrates small businesses and entrepreneurs, make Athens friendlier to business owners while maintaining community standards, revitalizing District 5 shopping centers with mixed-use, community-focused growth, and encourage projects that expand the tax base and improve quality of life.

Up With Growth

We must fix potholes and upgrade roads, water systems, and power lines, while planning for long-term growth with Ωsmarter traffic flow and expedited, on-time projects, all while keeping transit accessible and infrastructure reliable for working families and students.
